Chiptuning Trondheim

Electronic tuning in Trondheim
The cars are almost the same, and the differences between them are due to mileage, usage, and the age of the vehicle. Before you start elektronisk tuning, check the car carefully. Take into account the vehicle’s technical condition, any mechanical modifications, and your individual requirements. Never focus on the maximum possible gain, but on quality. Even two identical engines can vary in parametere by several percent. The average increase in power and torque is around 10–30% of the original output, but we don’t like to define gains as percentages. It can be said that for diesel engines, the average increases are about 20–30 HP / 50–70 Nm for engines with a capacity of up to around 2.0 liters, and about 30–40 HP / 60–100 Nm for engines with a capacity of around 3.0 liters. In most cases, owners tell us that the car consumes less fuel and is much more pleasant to drive.
Thanks to chiptuning the engine’s operation is optimized, making it run a little better and allowing the car to handle mountains or tow loaded trailers more easily. When you unexpectedly need to avoid an obstacle on the road, you will do it faster, more efficiently, and safely. Of course, we are talking here about safe and subtle modifications, not extreme chiptuning.
Chiptuning – do it yourself in just a few steps
- Connect the diagnostic tool
First, connect the diagnostic tool and read any fault codes. If there are any errors, write them down – it’s best to take a picture.
- Connecting the programming unit
Depending on the type of car you have, and within it, the engine and control system, you must connect to the ECU correctly. In most cases, it is enough to simply connect to the OBD port. In other cases, you need to remove the ECU and connect directly to the controller on the bench, using the proper instructions.
- Reprogramming the ECU
Once you have read the file from your car, you need to upload it to our server (all instructions can be found at the computer station). After you have sent the file to the server, you must wait from 10 minutes to an hour for the file. When you receive it, you must load it into the ECU by following all the steps in the procedure shown on the screen. Sometimes you need to turn the ignition off, other times turn it on, etc. When the controller has been reprogrammed, you can disconnect everything, start the engine, and take a test drive. If everything is fine, clean up the workspace and we’ll see you next time.
- Notes and tips
Sometimes after programming the engine management system, it may be necessary to disconnect the battery for a few seconds to reset the lock before starting the engine. This most often happens in vehicles from Ford or French cars.
When it comes to chiptuning or other modifications related to programming the engine or transmission control, a certain level of experience is required to avoid damage. That’s why it’s best to ask us for help. We have experience with tuning since 2009.
